A drummer for 17 years, he puts a strong sense of rhythm into his productions and DJing, mixing world styles with a percussive flair. Akimbo’s style is informed by many genres of world music and sounds with a traditional and tribal essence.Genres he plays include: afrobeat, tropical bass, afro-cosmic, tribal house, psychedelic, baile funk, cumbia, left-field, etc. He is currently running 3rd world music parties in Seoul: ‘Discotropic’, ‘Codex’, and Afrovision.
